Tower
Help Needed As
members of NGQMA the tower needs your help. Please contact Sherry
Taylor if you are interested in working in the tower. The jobs in the
tower
are critical to insuring a fair race, as the tower crew keeps track of
the laps, the running order, and establishes the lineup after yellow
flags. It's the
best seat in the house, with its own bathroom and AIR CONDITIONING. Registration
Registration
for every points race will be from 8:30 until 10:00.
Your
car must have been through safety before registering. You must have a
signed-off safety form in your hand in order to register the first
time. Once we have that form on file, and you have a sticker on your
car, you are good to go for all club races for the year. The
Safety Director will sign-off the form after inspecting your car and
the driver's safety equipment.
If
you are a returning member you must have your current QMA
badge
or the orange copy of your completed QMA application to register-NO
EXCEPTIONS.
Driver
and handler must come to the tower TOGETHER to register. A individual
insurance waiver must be signed by both handler and driver EACH WEEK
before registration can be completed.
If
this is the first year that you are a member of QMA the following must
be completed on your first race day-a individual waiver must be signed
by BOTH PARENTS and driver before registration can be completed. This
must be done in the tower. It will be kept on file-from every
week
on the individual waiver can be signed by one parent and the driver.
This must be done EVERY WEEK.
Cost
to race weekly races is $30.00. Transponders will be used at every
race.
Late Registration
Please
be aware that late registration causes a strain on the tower to get the
race line-ups posted in a correct and timely manner. Be considerate of
your fellow drivers and register by 10:00AM for our regular points
races. For the Regional races you must register by 7:30AM.
If
you know you are going to be late, but still wish to register/race,
then call one of your racing buddies who is at the track and ask them
to register your car/driver for you, so you can get on the racing
docket. When you arrive, then you can go up to the tower and
finish the registration process.
Transponders The club
is fortunate to be racing at a track that has an
electronic
scoring system that detects the transponders that are attached to each
car. Racers need to acquire their own transponder, as the
club
only has a dozen or so rental transponders availble to the new race
teams on a temporary, daily use basis.
In order to
rent a transponder you must submit your drivers license during
registration. NGQMA Two Minute Rule
During
the NGQMA Club meeting on February 4th 2008 it was voted to no longer have a
Two Minute Work Rule during races. Driver Profiles
If
you would like your driver to have a profile on the Driver page please
send the following information and a picture(optional) to the webmaster
markmackie@rocketmail.com.
The pictures are best if in .jpg format. Please put NGQMA Driver

Regarding Track Maintenance... The track will be closed during any period the
track requires maintenance including landscape work, painting of walls
and and any other general repairs. The track will open when the
maintenance has been completed. Please be considerate if you are
practicing and allow the maintenance to be completed prior to
continuing your practice.
Notice
Regarding RV and Trailer Parking at Fair Grounds!
Parking
of RV's is no longer permitted on the right side of the entrance per
the Fair Grounds Management. If you
are driving an RV when you pull into the fair grounds you MUST turn
left to park your vehicle unless you have a reserved parking space.
Reserved spaces are for Race Day officials.
Additionally there will be no parking of
trailers longer than 16' in front of the barbecue facility (across from
Bill Thomas parts trailer) and any trailer parked on the asphalt
requires a tongue or 2x8x8 pad on all leveling jacks to protect from
damaging the asphalt.
See Diagram for
details.
Quarter Midget Parts and Gear Are you
in need of parts to keep your racecar running? We
are fortunate to have Bill Thomas Motorsports provide 'at the track'
parts from his famous trailer. You can also swing by his home in
Cumming on off days to pick up the parts you need. Give Mr.
Thomas a call on his cell phone at 678-410-0537 and get your
parts, and valuable free advice too! Safety Equipment can be obtained from club member Mitch Elzey and Family. Email them at AYAE292@yahoo.com. Raceday
Announcements
Can't hear the announcements
from the tower when you are at your trailer? Then tune your FM radio to 88.3!
The tower transmits their announcements on a localized FM
transmitter, so you can hear them on your radio!
